Borrowed Notions
Borrowed beliefs
Spare your judgments
where's the truth behind what you speak
to say you know
to speak your truth
is a misconception
of dried up youth
you know your life
you know your story
your shoes you've filled
with other's glory-
borrowed time
borrowed things
have you asked yourself
what you believe
all your pain
is all your own
you've not lived mine
yet you cast your stones
don't waste your breath on me
I have better things to see
don't place your fear on me
where's the origin of your dreams?
don't cast your stones on me

When you hear, "Mom, You're awesome..." in a rushed, passing statement. Grab it. Hold on to it. Smile. It's one of the few cherished rewards that sometimes fall between Mother's Day and Christmas, if you're lucky. In it's rush and fever, it's genuine and real; and not heard enough by most mothers in the world.
"Ours is thankless job," my own mother warned me after I had my first son. I didn't believe her...at first. Then I survived the time of sleepless nights, - of bottles, diapers, dishes, laundry, and bandaids. And then, I understood.
Now, on the rare occasion when I have a "Mom, you're awesome" Day - I hold it more valued and cherished than any given holiday. Because if I am lucky enough to hear it, I've done alright. A good job. And for that moment I am appreciated for that. I'll take it. Quietly, and smile the rest of the way through- like a present just opened, unexpected and real. My gift. I'll take it. Any chance I can. Because it can't falter under force or obligation. . It wasn't guilted into being by mass media influencing the market or commercialized. It was there.. heart from heart, love to love, child to Mom. Thank you for that. :) Thank you.
When you hear yours, accept it, take it, enjoy it - stop for a moment and feel it. It's like an impromptu hug right when you need it. Smile, it's yours! It's genuine, it's real. However often it occurs! Accept it, love it.
You have done an awesome job, Mom.
Smile.
It's real. It's genuine. It's true. -and you deserve it too.
Good job, Mom!

Old Woman
Old woman
One of the trees
is it but a dream
or do you speak to me
at a pathway I shall choose
to speak to thee
or wisdom lose
enter the path
or horizon bound
at one with the whole
lost
or am I found?

I'll win
This time’s the last time
Won’t try again
Gonna make it work
Gonna win
May not have much
as far as the world is concerned
may not have all the things that make
you successful in the eyes of society
But I have this one
I have this try
And I have it all
I have it all
As long as I give it a try-
like it’s the last try I’ll ever get
Or ever take
Or ever willing to make a sacrifice for
The last time
This time’s the last time
And I got this
Gonna win
Gonna make it
Gonna give till the giving hurts
and I’ll still love
I’ll still live
I’ll win because I tried
Like it’s the last try I’ll ever get.

swing
like a pendulum
swinging to and fro-
So life's joys swing
they come and go.
surround yourself
with love and grace
smile in the times
when there seems no trace
and all will come back
in it's due time
ring in the hour
let the bells chime
embrace the thoughts
to carry you through
loose nothing of yourself
and all good within you
surround yourself
with goddess and grace
allow nothing of despair
to take it's place
and slowly the times
will swing back into place
learn from the tides
allow love to embrace.

yes
respect
that is all anyone ever truly wants
acknowledgement of a their existence
recognition for their being
acceptance of the person they are
true respect, with out judgment
the greatest gift you can give someone-
love for who they are

when
When clouds of doubt and shadows appear
when uncertainty breaks way to fear
when lightening strikes the hearts at hand
when all you can do is feebly stand
open
open
open
open the circle and look to the north.
draw the light
a powerful force
open the circle and look to the east
draw the fire
warmth for the cold to cease
open the circle and look to the south
southerly winds to blow
refreshing the spirit with all you know
open
open the circle and look to the west
to the waters so deep and blue
cleansing the doubts and shadows you knew
to the NORTH !
Rise free spirit!
Rise anew!
sing, dance, refreshed and renewed.
For all is right
and all is true.
you are in control
of all you do.
stand whole.
stand strong.
stand straight.
stand for you.
close and thank.
close and calm.
come again.
thank you.
now stand.
you are you.
look to the day bright and new.
